The Memorial Museum of Eduards Veidenbaums (1867-1892) is located in “Kalāči”.
A famous Latvian poet grew up here, studied and worked from the age of five. As a museum, “Kalāči” has existed since 1958.
In memorial house you can see an exhibition about E. Veidenbaums, but in exhibition hall, see the largest exhibition of the chests of Vidzeme in Latvia and become acquainted with household accessories of the 19th century. In the spacious garden a monument to E. Veidenbaums (author L. Blumbergs), oak trees planted by the father of Eduards and a small log building in the corner of the garden – the barn of Veidenbaums, where the poet lived in summers.
Finally there is a smoke sauna and a picnic place alongside the pond.
