Weavers’ workhop „Veverisas”

In the weaving workshop "Vēverīšas", the textile artist Dagnija Kupče works. Together with other textile artists, she takes care of the intangible cultural heritage – the authentic Latvian national costumes.

In the workshop, the exposition of the reconstruction of the ethnographic national costumes is displayed. Weaving skills are demonstrated for both domestic and foreign visitors. The masters will also tell you about the research and creation processes of national costumes. They also provide advices to Latvian Song and Dance Festival participants and other interested parties on how to properly dress when participating in the national costume shows and exhibitions.

In the workshop, you can purchase a variety of folk costume products, such as skirts, belts, socks, shawls, blouses and more.

In "Vēverīšas", unique Latvian flags are also made, but the national costumes made there proudly carry the name of Latvia far out into the world.
