“Cēsis 2021” Art Festival

On 10 July this year, the fifteenth Cēsis Art Festival, dedicated to myths and rituals, will open to the public. On the opening day, the Cēsis Centre for Contemporary Art will be launching a vast exhibition “Flying Closer to the Sun. Myths and Rituals” showcasing seven new large-scale works by Latvian artists.

Opening hours of Cesis Tourism Information Center during the holidays

Cēsis Tourism Information Center will be closed during Midsummer holidays from June 23 to June 24, while from June 25 to June 27 information centre will work as usual from 10:00 to 18:00.

Probably the most beautiful skating rink is located in Cēsis, in the picturesque Cēsis Castle Park. The silhouette of a medieval castle, the sculpture of a park pond fountain, Nut Hill, the park’s mighty trees and gazebos make a great place to relax. Persistent frost has ensured that the park’s ponds are covered with a thick layer of ice, so that Cesis residents and city guests can skate safely.

Cēsis singers challenge to dance at home

Several singers from Cēsis and the surrounding area have recorded a special New Year’s greeting for Cēsis – the song “Saucam kopā Cēsis” (Let’s call together CĒsis) – which in a few days reached 89,000 views on Cēsis Facebook. Taking into account the response of the audience, the creative team of the song has decided to call Cēsis and Cēsis together for a new challenge – Dance at home!
