Museum night at The Global Center for Latvian Art in Cēsis

The Global Center for Latvian Art in Cēsis will participate in the 2019 European Night of Museums (Nuit de Musees) with a variety of programs.

Raimonds Cīrulis, a local designer, artist and scholar, will lead a ceramics workshop where he will demonstrate methods he learned in Ghana. Participants will be invited to create their own ceramics, which they will be able to take home kiln-fired and ready on the same night, thanks to an ingenious drying technique involving milk and oak trees.

The Cēsis Small Theater will perform short works in keeping with this year's museum night theme “Tālavas Taurētājs.”

Musical performances by Cēsis-based rock band Pisang Ambon, American looping artist Chalk the Gates and Latvian worldbeat DJ K'an, along with kinetic fire-sculptures and video projections.
