Cēsis singers challenge to dance at home

Several singers from Cēsis and the surrounding area have recorded a special New Year's greeting for Cēsis - the song "Saucam kopā Cēsis" (Let's call together CĒsis) - which in a few days reached 89,000 views on Cēsis Facebook. Taking into account the response of the audience, the creative team of the song has decided to call Cēsis and Cēsis together for a new challenge – Dance at home!

According to the author of the music and lyrics, song is specially designed so that everyone can sing and dance with it. "At this time, when the usual entertainment is no longer available, everyone can come together remotely to dispel the gray everyday life," says author.

Dance at home is a moving alternative to a stay at home. It means a video clip danced to the accompaniment of the song “Let's call together Cesis” and filmed on a mobile phone or otherwise. It will be used to assemble a new video for song “Let's call Cēsis together”.

Several amateur art and folk dance groups from Cēsis region are already involved in dance at home, but everyone, young and old, alone or with their family, is invited to respond to the challenge by sending their own video clip to WhatsApp number 26666365 by February 7, 2021.

The author of the song's music and lyrics is Elīna Krastiņa, the sound recording was made by producer and arranger Kristaps Krievkalns and sound director Armands Treilihs.
