Cēsis: your destination for this summer’s events! Many different events are planned to take place in Cēsis this year, with every guest and citizen of the town invited! Start planning your summer in advance, and decide what events you will go to in Cēsis this season! See below for a brief guide to this summer’s events.

European Archaeology Days

This year’s European Archaeology Days will take place on 17–19 June, offering archaeology for children. There is a special offer for children: an opportunity to see the tools of archaeologists and find out how archaeological excavations actually take place.

Straume ’22 Festival

The STRAUME ’22 festival will take place in the courtyard here on 1 and 2 July.

Every fan of the genre is invited to the new and powerful Straume ’22 hip-hop festival, which will mark the beginning of a new annual season. The festival will take place in Līgatne, at the Zeit creative quarter, on 1 and 2 July.

The program includes some of Latvia’s best rap performers of various generations. The event will feature an ambitious and powerful show, an afterparty, tent sites and additional musical surprises!

LAMPA Conversation Festival

On 1 and 2 July, the eighth LAMPA Conversation Festival will come with more than 200 events covering various topics relevant to our society: practical and philosophical, global and Latvia-specific, taking place in person in Cēsis or online, transmitted in viewing locations all over Latvia. As always, the festival will be free of charge for its guests coming in person or watching it online at festivalslampa.lv.

As it does every year, LAMPA will offer a broad range of event topics and formats. In addition to the highly anticipated events of the year, such as the ‘Politiķu disko’ (Politician Disco) and the traditional ‘Politiķu cepiens’ (Politician Bake-off), there will be more than 200 amazing events for people to experience in person or online.

Several languages will be used at LAMPA. Most of the festival’s events will be in Latvian, but there will also be events in English and Russian with simultaneous translation into Latvian, and sign-language translation will also be provided for some of the events.

Cēsis Art Festival

This year, the Cēsis Art Festival will take place from 9 July to 14 August. The festival will grace the town for a whole month, not only presenting its delightful performances, concerts, film screenings, and exhibitions to the people of Latvia, but also bringing together participants and visitors from all over the world, thanks to its recognition.

Zaube Wild Culinary Festival

The Zaube Wild Culinary Festival will take place on 9 July this year. It is an event that celebrates the love of nature and wild foraged food. Various culinary competitions, cooking demonstrations, master classes, lectures, workshops, outdoor activities, and a farmer’s market. Great atmosphere. Family-friendly.

Cēsis 816 Town Festival

On 15, 16, and 17 July this year, Cēsis will celebrate its biggest festival of the year, Cēsis 816. As usual, various concerts, sports activities and other events will take place in the town’s squares and streets. More information will follow!
