Cesis 815 "Let's sound further!"

On July 17 and 18 of this year, Cēsis will celebrate its biggest holiday of the year - "Cēsis 815". The creative concept of the festival and the guiding principle of the program is "Let's sound further!", And it will be complemented by face-to-face concerts in accordance with the epidemiological requirements. At the culmination of the festival, we will award "Cēsis of the Year 2021" and several concerts will be given.

At the same time, providing the leitmotif of the festival, the concerts will be broadcast both in the urban environment and on "ReTV" and on the cesis.lv website. The full program is available HERE .

Already at 8 o'clock in the morning on the main holiday, Saturday, July 17, Cēsis residents will be awakened by the wind orchestra "Cēsis" and a special orchestra car, which will leave the city, encouraging them to enjoy the holiday program.

In turn, we will start the festival itself at 13.00, and they will last live until 21.00. The live broadcast will be hosted by Gundega Skudriņa and Mārtiņš Spuris from Cēsis . Festive director Gunita Bārda. During the live broadcast, we will connect to various places in the new Cēsis region, so that the festival will resonate with all the parishes and villages of the region.

Persons who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or have become ill with Covid-19 during the last six months will have the opportunity to attend the festive concerts in person, presenting a valid Covid-19 certificate and identity document at the entrance.

Elīna Gluzunova , pianist Solvita Jansone , children's pop group "Hey"  and Cēsis Castle Choir will perform at the opening concert at 1 pm in Rucka Park. At the same time, the festival with musical performances will be performed throughout the city - in Rucka Park, Ozolkalns, Cīrulīši nature trails, Cēsis Castle Garden, the so-called "Blind Quarter", etc. - where Aija Vītoliņa, Cēsis Saxophone Quartet, Mārtiņš Kanters, Aija Andrejeva will perform , Vidzeme Chamber Orchestra, etc. The culmination of the festival at 20.00 with the  presentation of the award " Cēsnieks of the Year 2021" and the  concert of the group "Astro'n'out" , but the day will end with a virtual party from "Fonokluba"

On Saturday, from 10 am to 6 pm  , the historic Hanseatic Craftsmen's and Home Manufacturers 'Market will take place in Rožu Square (merchants' application is closed). Also, on both holidays, sports activities will take place throughout the city.

We invite you to spend the Sunday in a calmer atmosphere with a festive picnic in the garden of Cēsis Castle, as well as there will be an opportunity to try yourself in the attractive summer skiing in Vienibas Square.

In order to highlight lesser-known cultural and historical places and values ​​in Cēsis, we invite you to follow the program cycle "Pielaiko Cēsis" from the beginning of June. In the shows, we discover and study the history, events and people and traditions of celebrating holidays in different places. This year, the series of programs is dedicated to places to see new opportunities after a year spent in a virtual environment, where to be, where to meet, where to celebrate. The programs can be watched on the channel "ReTV" on Tuesdays at 21.25 and on the Internet in the social network accounts of Cēsis municipality. More information HERE .
