Audiovisual story "My heart - my lake" on the St. Johns church

A new audiovisual story "My heart - my lake" has been created, as a greeting on the 815th anniversary of Cēsis, in cooperation with the Cēsis St. John's Church and the Cēsis Culture Center and the creative and technical team, will start - on Friday, July 16.

"When the church trembles easily from the ground up to the roof ridge and opens its eyes, the view reveals the people who have allowed the heart of the church to beat through the ages. It has been the watchmaker Alexander Porten, who has been turning up the church clock day after day for 40 years. It has been Pastor Voldemārs Maldonis, who has been tirelessly giving a helping hand, inspiring, supporting and expanding borders. The gaze slides higher and higher and stops at the church tower cherished by the outstanding craftsman Sārumu Mārcis. This is a story about the beauty, patriotism and courage to be free that is so characteristic for Cēsis."

This story was created by: idea, script, voice - Laura Čaupale, poetry consultant - Māra Liniņa, selection of archive materials - historian Gundars Kalniņš, lighting design - Uldis Skroders, audio design - Kristaps Paegle.

Music used: Haralds Sīmanis “Ezers”, Emīls Dārziņš “Melancholic Waltz”, performed by Kaspars Zemītis, Hans Zimmer “Time”.

The audiovisual story will be heard and seen every weekend - on Friday and Saturday evenings with the onset of darkness in the round hours from July 16 till October.

The project was developed in cooperation with the municipal agency Cēsis Culture and Tourism Center. Supported by Cēsis municipality and Cēsis St. John's Church Restoration Fund.
