Am 7. November wurde in der internationalen Konferenz, die die Investitions- und Entwicklungsagentur Lettland (LIAA) in Riga organisierte, die Ergebnisse des diesjährigen nationalen Wettbewerbs „Kulturtourismus 2017“ zu den hervorragendsten europäischen Reisezielen bzw. EDEN (European Destinationsof Excellence) mitgeteilt. In einer scharfen Konkurrenz wurde Cēsis als Preisträger im Wettbewerb und kulturelles Ziel genannt.
