Tourism app Cēsis - Explore Hansa is available for tourists, who like planning their trips themselves and enjoy their trip without large tourist groups. The app helps tourists to explore Cēsis and the surroundings of the town by having all the required information in their smartphone or tablet.
The app summarises information on the tourism objects of Cēsis and its vicinity, catering, accommodation, as well as entertainment venues, largest events of the town and information on the town that tourists may find important. The app offers a chance of going on a thematic excursion In the Footsteps of Hanseatic Merchant, based on the excursion objects indicated in the map. Enthusiasts of active recreation may explore the primeval valley of the River Gauja, by visiting Cīrulīši nature trails under the guidance of the app.
In order to introduce the residents and guests of Cēsis with the newly developed app, an introductory campaign to the app will be conducted as the active tourist season proceeds. The participants will have to download the app, visit each object on a route developed specifically for the app Heritage of Hanseatic Crafts in Cēsis and pick up the word stored in the waypoints. After completing the route, a sentence must be completed by using the collected words. Take the completed sentence and arrive to Cēsis Tourism Information Centre in 1 Baznīcas Laukums, where after checking the information the participants will receive the prize.
The app is available for download from Google Play and App Store free of charge. It can be downloaded by scanning the QR code, which is enclosed with this publication, as well as by searching for keywords “Cēsis - Explore Hansa” on the app stores.
The app was developed within the framework of Central Baltic program 2014-2020 project “Hanseatic Approach to New Sustainable Alliances”. The project unites 11 project partners from Latvia, Estonia and Sweden. The aim of the project is to promote the historical values of the Hanseatic League and to develop new tourism products, offers and services, in order to jointly develop HANSA into the leading tourism brand in the region of the Baltic States.
