Gauja National park participates in tourism fairs in Finland and Lithuania

With the participation in two international exhibitions at once, Gauja National park (GNP) is being popularized in Finland and Lithuania. These are two out of seven exhibitions where GNP will be represented in Latvian national stand, including Cēsis, by highlighting the brand “Enter Gauja” and Rīga-Gauja region title “European Region of Gastronomy” in 2017.

From 19th of January begins one of the most important international tourism exhibition in northern countries - “Matka Nordic Travel Fair 2017” in Helsinki, capital of Finland. Here, in this exhibition, countries are being widely represented from all around the world, gathering around 72 thousand visitors each year. Day before the opening of the exhibition, Rīga-Gauja gastronomy region presentation event for finnish mass media representatives was occured in Embassy of Latvia, in Finland.

“Adventur 2017”, which occurs in Lithuania from 20th to 22nd of January, is tourism destination, lifestyle and active tourism popularization devoted exhibition, which each year hosts around 25 thousand people.

This year in GNP is unique with the possibility to put gastronomy in a very special place, because of being part of the Rīga-Gauja Gastronomy region that represents European gastronomy region activities and concept “Wild at Palate”.

Municipalieties in GNP – Cēsis, Sigulda, Valmiera, Līgatne, Amata, Pārgauja, Kocēni, Priekuļi and Inčukalns since year 2012 are implementing strategy by promoting GNP as a united tourism destination.

Participation in tourism exhibitions and fairs is organized with the support of Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and European Regional Development Fund.
