On May 16, the Cēsis Castle complex will open the first two floors of the museum's exposition, the Western Tower of the medieval castle, the multimedia exhibition "Cēsis Castle Story", the medieval castle kitchen garden and the Exhibition House to the visitors.

The multimedial exhibition “The Story of Cēsis Castle” can be seen in the West Tower of Cēsis Medieval Castle, which is a unique exposition with video, sound and light effects, which completely surrounds the viewer. Feel the atmosphere of ancient times and learn about the fascinating story of the most powerful Livonian fortress in an unprecedented experience. In the tower, visit the master's living room and enjoy the beautiful view of the city of Cēsis. Families with school-age children are offered individual activity sheets to help them learn about the history of the medieval castle.

In the kitchen garden of the medieval castle, the caring gardener has been working hard since early spring. This summer, in the castle kitchen garden, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with 60 varieties of vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants which have grown in the Middle Ages. Those that were on the spring menu of the medieval castle residents can already be seen in the green exposition of the castle garden. We invite you to talks about ancient plants, gardening and health with a knowledgeable gardener.
