Cēsis will be greeting spring with a delicious event – Cesis Spring Restaurant week, which will be held from 1st till 7th April. This will be the third time Cesis restaurants welcome gourmands to explore the rich and unique taste of this special offer. This time the doors will open five restaurants of Cesis to welcome everyone who is willing to treat themselves!
During Restaurant week everybody will have unique opportunity to taste three course meal for a special price – 20,00 EUR. The menus will differ from the restaurant’s usual offer by bringing the taste to new level for each and every one. Menus will reflect Latvian spring in the kitchen – birch juice, asparagus, sugar peas, leaf salads, cauliflower, rhubarb and other vitamin rich delicacies.
Spring is fresh, chilly and crispy just like sparkling birch juices. “Cafe2Locals” will treat their guests with the freshness of these juices by serving halibut stewed in birch juice with spinach crumbs, purple potato muss, mussels and lemon sauce. Restaurant “Villa Santa” will greet gourmands with grilled Lapland cheese with birch juice syrup, fresh fruits and first dandelion leaves for starter.
After the long winter we also desire vitamins which can be found in fresh fruits, greens and vegetables, therefore, restaurant “Jāņoga” offers pearl chicken fillet with mashed sugar peas and boletus velouté sauce. Hard working chefs of “Hotel Cesis” restaurant are certain that richness in colour and spring freshness are the key elements of a spring dish as they are offering lamb skewer with pink cauliflower salad, chives sauce, zucchini, ricotta and sprouts. “H.E. Vanadziņš Ziemeļu restorāns” will bring the spring colours to the table by preparing Piebalga’s lamb in a basket of greens with mashed purple potatoes, butter baked salsify, juniper berry sauce and wood sorrel.
What would be Latvian spring without fresh berries and rhubarbs? Raspberry cream, meringue and green pear sauce – this dessert will satisfy “Hotel Cesis” restaurant visitor taste buds. However, “Villa Santa” restaurant guests will have opportunity to enjoy oven backed pearl chicken breast with scalded asparagus, strawberry-avocado salsa and maracuja sauce as a main dish. “H.E. Vanadziņš Ziemeļu restorāns” will treat gourmands with rhubarb and sparkling vine sorbet with whipped rhubarb sauce and peppermint crumbs for dessert.
For vegetarian’s restaurant “Jāņoga” has prepared asparagus with the first potatoes and carrot-rapeseed oil sauce, sun dried tomatoes and beans, however, restaurant “Villa Santa” will serve asparagus stewed in butter with egg Benedict, grain mustard – vinegar sauce, almond crumbs and freshly grated grana padana cheese. Also, chef of “Jāņoga” has prepared a special drink menu with beverages suited just for Cesis Spring Restaurant week meals.
During Cesis Spring Restaurant week, gourmands won’t be left with no surprises – from 11. - 18. march in Facebook will be held a contest where everyone will have opportunity to win 5 gift cards, each for two persons for the special restaurant week offer.
